One Swedish hallmark is the Dalahorse from one of our counties Dalarna. It’s a wooden horse in a certain horse shape, traditionally painted in red with ornaments in white and blue. But these days you can find Dalahorses everywhere, in other materials and colours. Right now it’s kind of fashionable to have one in your home.

But the one that will always remain the original Dalahäst is the one in wood from Dalarna. It’s been manufactured since the 17th century, but the most beautiful and high quality horses were made during the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century.
The biggest Dalahorse you can find in Sweden, of course. Outside the Swedish city Avesta, a 13 metre tall Dalahorse decorates the landscape.

My brother had a period in his teens when his answer to everything was “Dalahäst”.
- What’s your favourite food?
- Dalahäst.
- What are you doing?
- Dalahäst.
- Would you mind helping out here?!
- Dalahäst.
It kind of got on your nerves sometimes. Finally he has grown up.

Wow, I haven’t woken up this late on a Tuesday since… I don’t know when. 9 months?
Ahhhhhhhh, and I LOVE it! What could possibly be better than relaxing in bed til u FEEL like getting up, cook some breakfast, and eat it in total harmony, knowing that you ain’t putting your fot at work today.
You see, folks, I worked my last day on Friday. Now the count down has started for something bigger. In 13 days I’ll leave Sweden for some adventure in Kenya, Africa.
Which means that I will get a lot of things to write here on the Swedish Way. It’s always good for your inspiration to get to see something else, and since I’m pretty sure that Kenya is way different to Sweden, I will get a lot of clear thoughts about my native country as I spend my months in Africa.
I hope all you people out there will have a splendid day today! ‘Cause we all deserve it!

As the titel says! I’m sorry I have been such a bore these past days. But I’ve just been busy. There’s a lot of things going on right now. I’m working my last month at work, and planning a trip to Africa. Right now I’m looking for a travel partner. Which isn’t easy to find. But yesterday I got hope, can’t tell you until I know for sure.
It’s getting closer and closer the date I’m planning to leave, and I still don’t have ONE SINGLE THING planned. Not the flight, the acomondation, nothing.
Wish me good luck!
Take care are you beautiful people out there.

Wooooo it’s Sunday and I want a DOG!

It’s such a total beauty! And nice and friendly, loves it’s family. Can join me when I’m running, or go for a long walk, despite it’s shorts legs. And if I don’t feel like a walk one day, it’s satisfied with a short walk around the house, to continue with some cuddling on the sofa. Even though it’s crazingly beautiful fur it doesn’t need much care.
Wooooow!

Hello hello hello!
How is everyone?
I just got back from a walk in the forrest. And as usual here in Sweden it started raining as I was walking my best. So I found shelter under a tree. Where I could watch the birds play. It’s a sexy game they play with each other. These birds sat in a soccer goal. They sat a couple of feet away from each other. Then one of them swirled around the other, flied really close, but then sat down a couple of feet away again.
And that’s how the game continued, the other bird did the same. And just once in a while they got really closed to touch each other. Really sexy.
Then it stopped raining.

Hola!
I’ve a great day at work today. First of all, I started two hours later than usual, since I was at the dentist´s in the morning.
Then I found that my co-worker had brought her little dog. That’s one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever seen. His fur is all golden and his nose is pale, and he has this innocent expression in his face that could make me melt. Picture him begging for food at the table, you wouldn’t like to say no. Haha!
Then we made home made ice-cream. M mm mmm was it tasty? IT WAS! And so healthy. The best ever. Contains almost no carbohydrates at all! When you make it the way we made it.
Absolutely perfect day, I must say.
And it’s getting even better later on…

Weeeeehaa!
It’s almost summer here! ALMOST! It’s pretty warm outside, the sun is shining… If we could only look past the fact that it’s pretty windy and the temperature is lower than it should be, it’s fine!
I’m sitting here drinking a smoothie. In some minutes I will go outside, maybe even go for a walk… Who knows
They say it’s healthy…

Hello everyone!
I hope you are all alright!
I’m just fine. There’s alot going on in my head right now. I’m slowly planning a trip to Africa. The thing is it doesn’t feel safe to go on my own, but I don’t know anyone who wants, or can afford going with me. So that’s the problem. I’m trying to find someone, otherwise I’ll go down myself, but then I’ll spend the first weeks volounteering at an orphanage.

However, I do want to volounteer, but it would still feel nice if someone came along. Being in a new country, a new CONTINENT, a completely different culture, all on my own would be mentally difficult I think. More than I can imagine probably. ‘Cause right now I can’t see the problem, I’ve been on my own before, and I survived and made friends! But that time it was an arranged trip, a language travel (I went to Malta to learn English).
This would be completely on my own.
I’ve actually had some doubts about my own skill to make new friends lately. A while ago I had no troubles at all, spoke to anyone, had interesting conversations with anyone, but lately I’ve felt like I’m no good at that anymore. But after meeting that guy on the train (read about it here )this weekend I feel like I’m back on track!
However, I’ll let you know as my plans go further!
Have a good afternoon!

Hello everyone!
I had a great weekend in Stockholm (our capital). I’ve never really understood the thing about weekend trips before. I always thought it was no point in going that far to only stay a couple of days. Now I realized that it’s a great way to spend the weekend. To experience something different from the usual. Especially when you wake up, go to work, cook food, sleep, wake up, go to work… And so on.
My friend and I went to the suburb to have some real Baklava. All you middle east people know what I mean. Yummy! For those of you who don’t know what Baklava is; it’s a Turkish cookie, very sweet and very popular there.

And then I made a new friend on the train back home. I happened to sit down next by a Mexikan guy. We spoke for almost four hours. The entire trip. I really get excited when I meet foreigners, so it really made my trip funnier!
We talked about meeting at this latino bar in Gothenburg, the city where I go out, if I go out. I’ve never been in a latino bar! Or maybe I have… Yeah I have! But never with a Mexikan bloke!
Have a good night!
